Beautiful trellis! Where did you purchase? I like clematis for perennial vining.

I grew hops a few times, they are a lot of fun and if you know a home brewer, you might get some beer out of the deal!

Different varieties of clematis, so they bloom at different times.

If you do clematis. make sure you plant a base coverage like hosta.

Clematis. It will climb and not spread and strangle your whole garden.

Clematis. Very hearty in our climate. They can have purple, pink or white flowers. Perennial.

Clematis is beautiful and a great climber, but check what kind of blooming the one you get has. we got stuck with one that blooms so pretty once and then nothing the rest of the season

Climbing hydrangea! They’re hardy and will stick for a long time. I have a clematis too and love it, but doesn’t seem as strong.

Don’t get viney plants because if they make a home in your brick it can cause problems and is very hard to get rid of plus they harbor all kinds of bugs

Climbing hydrangea for sure. They have a beautiful waxey leaf, Lacey white flower. They really take off after a few years.

Do NOT get any kind of ivy. That’ll destroy your masonry/brick and cost $$$ for tuckpointing.

Before you decide, make sure the sun in this location is appropriate.

Echoing what Bonnie said - any clematis I've ever had like full sun, all day long. They also prefer well drained soil. Roses and hydrangea are also tricky. Do your research before spending money and planting!
