Looking for feedback on the Park Ridge park district preschool program. My son's birthday is end of September (and we're planning to send him to St. Andrews), so misses the cut-off date to start this year, but would love to get him acclimated to the school routine this fa...

City initiates process to fill Alderman Maloney’s Seventh Ward Seat Alderman Marty Maloney has served the residents of the 7th Ward as its Alderman after being sworn into office in May 2011 in Park Ridge. Due to the untimely passing of the late Mayor David Schmidt in March 2015, Alderman Maloney was selected by the City Council to lead Park Ridge as its Acting Mayor. Since April, 2015, Acting Mayor Ma...

When you vote tomorrow you can drop off lawn signs for recycling at your polling place - or bring them later in the week until Friday in Park Ridge. Candidates can pick up signs through Friday at polling places if they want to reuse in another election.

Seeing many signs for various candidates where they should not be in Park Ridge. It is beginning to look like a " game of signs". It is not how many signs a candidate can afford to put in place but how many votes one gets. LOL

**UPDATE** Yard signs recycling is in full gear in Park Ridge! The collection is piling up at Public Works! Today is the last day to drop off. We learned a few things about cardboard boxes and lots of rain. they don't hold up well. If you have any signs left, dr...

People have been asking me about the high school board candidates and who I like for the election in Park Ridge. Here are the District 207 Daily Herald Endorsements. After attending the candidate forums I agree with them 100%:

A stormwater utility (SWU) is considered to be a fair and equitable way to fund stormwater projects and would support the City’s drainage system and flood issues in Park Ridge. This item was approved by the Finance and & Budget committee on 9/26/16 by a vote of 4-3. My opponent voted against it. The item was then brought to the City Council on 10/3/16 and was approved with a...

Wow. Regular people, including businesspeople -- not just the nuns, bless them -- talking about doing the moral and economically smart thing around Park Ridge? Perhaps there is hope. So ask your friendly neighborhood "non-partisan" candidates where they stand. And do keep in mind that the value of the federal minimum wage peaked in 1968 when it was raised to...

I have an iPhone 7 with ATT, latest update downloaded, nothing out of the ordinary happened, rebooted several times in Park Ridge. Sometime between 3-5pm yesterday, I can no longer receive text messages. I can send but not receive. Anyone have this problem before?

There has been a lot of great candidate debate for this local election by Park Ridge. Regardless of which side you are on, I hope this recycling effort is something everyone can get behind! Please support this city wide campaign to recycle all the yard signs. Spread the word to your fr...

A fellow Park Board member is sending this to the newspaper after being targeted in a mailing from two candidates for Park Board - Jim O'Donnell and Jim Janak: I received a campaign mailer for the Park District election supporting two candidates for the Park Board in Park Ridge. It was funded by "Cook County Integrity PAC". Why is a Maine Township Republican right wing Tea Party PAC funded with $10, 000 in donations from a non-resident getting involved in a NON-PARTISAN Park ...

***To be clear, my post below is not intended to take sides in Park Ridge. I sit on the D64 Board and know how difficult it is to do everything needed with the funds available to us. What is not needed, is the manipulation of facts and misrepresentation of numbers to fear mo...

So I went to the D64 School Board Candidate forum last night in Park Ridge. I was blown away by some of the answers. Bulblitz and Norm (can't remember how to spell his last name) impressed me with their ideas on how to curtail waste by not buying into pricy untested or shiny...

Looking for a lake house rental in WI or MI (3 hours or less drive from PR) that could accommodate 8 adults, 2 kids and 2 babies the last week of July near Park Ridge. Airbnb and VRBO are super limited for that week so thought I would check here to see if anyone rents out their vacation home over the summer?

Here's a link to what I think is a well-written commentary about the D64 candidates with potential conflicts of interest nearby Park Ridge. It echoes, but more eloquently perhaps, my comments on the subject posted elsewhere on this page. Please give it a read and, just for a moment, try to overcome your biases toward the author.

I was pleasantly surprised that Candidate Marty Maloney's signs are now back in their original place near Park Ridge. Out in the public space at Park Ridge Pointe both candidates are now represented fairly. I will never know if it was those who stole Marty's signs that felt remorse and retuned them or if they came fr...
