I recommend you go to a GI doctor. Have an endoscopy to rule out another problem. I was using lots of over the counter stuff till I was scoped to find out I have Barrett esophagus.

For some strange reason chewing mint flavored gum helps mine. I know it’s weird but I now have a coworker doing it as well and she said it helps her. No clue why.

I take a daily Omeprazole 20 mg) for the last 15 years and has been the best thing for me. I have ruled out some foods that mess me up but otherwise I am able to eat what I want without the daily heartburn I had from 18-30 years old. It was heartburn and upset stomach 3-4 days a week back then. I am sure my diet was not the best back in the day. I honestly would like to try a solid alternative

No tomatoes or tomato based foods in evening, cut out fried foods or limit them to lunch. Don't overeat - small portions and eat slowly. Keep a food journal to id other triggers.

Apple cider vinegar everyday. Sounds counterproductive but the added acid gets your body to stop over producing acid. Taking meds for it will just suppress it causing bigger issues over time.

Tums works the best for me, if I don’t have it, usually drink milk, but I heard milk doesn’t work for everyone, it might get you worst heartburn

Eat protein first as have most digestive enzymes, salad etc does not require as much enzymes.

Talk to your doctor. If you have prescription coverage, you should be able to get a prescription that will cost you little to nothing out of pocket.

Also of course watch out for trigger foods - which can vary person by person. And try not to eat closer than 3 hours before bedtime.

Tums, natural remedy that works great is large glass of water and mix in teaspoon of baking soda. Tastes a bit like salt water but man does it work.
