Claudete Pereira How much noise does it produce? We just received ours, and I am sad because it is extremely noisy (75 db). Not what I expected.

Our central AC doesn't work well on the 2nd floor and we use one. Pretty quiet and very efficient

I've had two. The better of the two has a small tube that is located in the larger outgoing air tube which is directed out your window. This allows humidity/condensation to exit the house thru the window, vs having to empty a bucket/pan of water every day or two. These are fabulous for second floor rooms, or older homes with no central air. Great for older folks to who might have a hard time installing a window unit.

There are few different types. The ones with 2 duct hoses, 1 to bring the cooling air in from the outside and another expel it (with all the heat from the cooled air) back out. Single duct systems are cheaper and draw air from inside your house, to do the same thing. But that air has to come from inside your house - from the outside. And what to do with all the water either of these will produce is another story. At least window units just let it drip outside.
