The front of our house looks like a lake in Park Ridge. Did Park Ridge turn the water main off?

It’s like that everywhere! My parents were driving home today from Florida. They called me about 30 min ago, they had to zig zag to get to their house in park ridge because so many streets were so badly flooded.

Instead of beautifying uptown Park Ridge with new trees and sidewalks how about they invest the millions in taxes we pay to upgrade the sewer lines from 1955

We just got water for the first time ever and have been in the house for 5 years. Main was definitely shut down.

It’s not just Park Ridge - other places flooded as well. We got a lot of rain in a short period of time. This was a bad one. 😫

If anyone needs plumbing assistance, my very good friend owns Davinci Plumbing. He’s local, ask for Mike.

We did get hit with a ton of rain so fast! It was frightening. I feel so horribly for those of you suffering from the storms. My suggestion, when the dust settles for you, is to report every instance of water issues, (basement flooding, sewers, streets with standing water) to the City of Park Ridge. It is my understanding that is the only way they will truly know the problem hot spots for our water system and sewer systems. Sending good wishes to you all!

Edison and. or wood parks streets are all under water in many areas. also many flooded through water coming up from catch basin not from seepage. and many have never ever had water and have sump pumps and drain tiles. this storm was brutal. 4 inches in short time. nothing can keep up with that

We had our newly remodeled basement completely flooded with backup sewage last night. For those who have used a restoration company, who do you recommend that won’t charge thousands? Our last quote was 3k.

Try to refrain from running washing machines and dishwashers today. Our sewer system is shared with the street sewers for flood water and it can overtax they system in most areas of Park Ridge that haven’t been updated yet. Also, if you do not have a sewer pump with a check valve then look for the sewer in your basement and make sure you put a stand pipe in when we get rains like that to prevent sewer backup. Every neighbor who puts an overhead sewer pump in their home just puts more pressure on the homes that don’t have one to take on the sewer water to relieve the outdated system.

Sean look at this flooding. Maybe living off Oakton has its advantages

Fairview Ave usually floods big time (street) and so does my backyard and my neighbor’s backyards. No water in any of these places when I got up this morning.

That’s what my backyard looks like every time we have a hard rain.

My floor drain backed up sewage in the basement. Probably was around 50 gallons. I happy it was not worse. Seven hours of clean up. I have a plumber coming by this afternoon to run a camera and see if the sewer needs rodding. Also I want to see if I have some options to prevent this in the future.
