** update I have called a few rehab places & they won't touch skunks close to Park Ridge. I did find one company that will charge me $175 to come trap, euthanize and cremate it. Hello. I am from Park Ridge but currently live in Schaumburg. My mom told me there might be someone here that can help me with an injured skunk. Back legs or leg doesn’t work & it’s dragging it. We called local animal welfare places & they are either too busy to answer or won’t take orphaned or injured animals. Hello. I am from Park Ridge but currently live in Schaumburg. I don’t know where to go for skunk care. maybe some of the vets in the area have experience? Your such a good person this made me so happy to see. Thank you for trying to help this poor baby. Not everyone is this caring.

There is a link on Willowbrook Wildlife Center - they are at capacity but the link lists other organizations that may be able to help. Good luck and poor thing. https://www.dupageforest.org/willowbrook-wildlife-center

The grove nature center had one before. I’m sure they would be willing to take it.

Animal control needs to be called, it’s likely sick and becomes a health hazard.

Madeline Heller might have an answer? Try calling Niles Animal Hospital and Bird Medical Center unfortunately the wonderful Dr Sakas has recently passed. Reach out to Bi-State Wildlife Hotline of Missouri & Illinois for advice.

PLEASE contact NILES ANIMAL hospital they may be able to direct you to someone who will trap it and take it to the woods — trap - euthanize - cremate is really HARSH and RIDICULOUS!

Call non emergency 911. Police will probably come out and shoot it unfortunately. Most humane thing to do. Could have distemper.
