Those of you that cut ties with cable in Park Ridge. what are you using now to get your regular channels? We have Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ but I need my nbc/cbs/cnn/espn etc. Thanks!

Get an outdoor antenna. Tons of over the air digital stations. Free cbs/nbc/abc/fox/pbs.

Mohu Leaf. It’s a small flat antenna that you plug into your TV and it kind of rests/hides behind it. It gets you your basic local channels, but for CNN and ESPN you would need to pay for another streaming service.

We bought an antenna for $60. All basic channels come great. Then we bought a Fire TV for recording shows for $250. This all paid for itself in a few months by canceling cable. Only Subscriptions are Hulu for $5. 99, Amazon Prime, and Netflix. Disney+ is free with Verizon right now.

Hulu +. Get all the channels you mentioned above & more! DO IT! We used the guys @ Marshmallow Streaming (they’re on FB) to help us cut the cord. Super knowledgeable & excellent customer service-they walk you thru the process & even help you cancel your existing services. They bought us our new router & other equipment we were renting from cable etc & installed all of that equipment too. Made something that seemed overwhelming, a really positive easy experience

You can stream local channels using Locast. It's free. https://www.locast.org/

Hulu Live. We tried Youtube TV--and liked it--but the problem is we have too many users/streaming in our house. I think Youtube TV only allows 3 devices on at once. We trialed both separately---before we actually cut the cord. So we did have an overlap of a few weeks. Antenna for WGN.

We have ATT TVNow. Streaming most local channels, but not WGN. I also have an OTA antenna. That would be the cheapest with no ongoing fees and you would get all the local channels.

Question: After all the changes and streaming subscriptions, if you were to keep the same channels and features, is there really a savings?

I wouldn’t recommend it! We did for 1 month. we missed it very much! We are back to cable! The whole search & seek issue with the other stuff was impossible

We have Hulu Live after cancelling DirectTv. We love it. We have WOW for Internet and never had issues before the quarantine. Now with everyone home on the Internet all day and night, it has slowed down.

I use an HDTV antenna. It’s flat, not like the old bunny ears from back in the day.

ATTnow app or YouTube TV. Both 50$ a month I think. No boxes or wires just need internet. Only other way is an digital antenna for locals, they are like 10$

We test drove both Hulu live and YouTube TV. That was after a lot of research into the channels that my husband insisted he needed. YouTube TV was hands-down our favorite. The interface is much easier to use. So glad we made the change.
