Anyone knowledgeable with unemployment nearby Park Ridge? Son 18 temp off full time job with benefits due to corona got denied benefits letter. Can't get through to anyone after 100 calls to figure out what to write for appeal. Says I can check online but I have looked all over website and cannot for the life of me figure it out. Anyone? I would appreciate anyone who might be able to help me. I will keep calling but am on day 7 and we only have 30 days to file appeal and he still has to pay his bills. Thanks!

My son was also denied but not sure why. He had worked the right amount of hours to qualify but half was in Iowa and now in IL. Trying to reach someone has been unsuccessful as well. Hopefully someone has some leads.

How long has he been working there? There is a minimum income requirement that you have to have in the past couple of quarters to qualify. If he started recently he may not have earned enough?

Has he worked for the company for over a year?

I have had some questions too I think at the very least a letter and fax should be sent within 30 days with questions and/or appeals. Not sure what else people can do. I have emailed them. twice but have had no one reply Good luck!

Did he work a year? There’s a qualifying statement about having to had the last 4 out of 5 quarters to be eligible, and there’s cut off dates. So if he applied 3/25, none of the income he earned for 2020 will count. But if he applied 4/2 it would. I went through same thing with my brother. We wrote a letter with their appeal form and sent along all the income he made. I was also told that mailing is much faster then website to appeal, and to not even try calling. He had a response within a week! Good luck, they don’t make it easy,

He has income in Q 4 2019 and then 2020 I feel horrible I am 52 and worked my whole life the poor kid is 18 and asking for help and I have never felt more stupid. The website is HORRIBLE. Even at work the service manager said don't worry kid you also get the Covid 600 bonus. He didn't get any stimulus because we claimed him last year paying tuition. I feel like a horrible parent.

Eligibility is based on the past 15 months or past 4 quarters of your income. Not sure if that helps but that is ultimately the first reason for many not eligible.

You have to work at the same job for 180 days example in a month if you work 40hrs that’s 5 days x 4weeks that is only 20 days for the month( that would be 240 days for the year) if he doesn’t work holidays then it’s 4 days. I hope that helps
