Has anyone used a meal service that delivers meals on an ongoing basis for someone who is sick nearby Park Ridge? A friend who lives by herself in Bucktown broke her leg in three places yesterday. She had surgery last night and is already home from the hospital. She can’t bear weight for four weeks and she doesn’t have a lot of help. She is also a singer so she hasn’t been working for two months since all gigs have been cancelled. I’d like to do a meal train for her but one where people can pay to have a meal sent instead of making it themselves. She sings in a choir in Park Ridge and the people that want to help are older and won’t be able to take food down to her. Thanks

The service called Freshly is pretty good and everything is pre-made. You just heat up in the microwave. But that only covers dinner.

When my friend was out for surgery we all took turns sending her meals from door dash. We signed up for a day and a meal through an outlook calendar and then send the food they’d like.

I have not set one up but I swear I have seen meal train used to set something like this up. Instead of people putting in what they will be making, the notes could be which restaurants are being ordered. Then use door dash or whatever delivery service when it is your chosen day.
