Moving in next 2 weeks by Park Ridge. Planned to donate clothes and housewares. Do they go in landfill now that I can't drop them anywhere? 😕

Maybe you can email a local charity like Wings in Niles, they have a store right across the street from Walmart on golf road. Perhaps they will let you drop off your donations as long as you arrange for it?

Marketplace. Free. you will get people. "Stage" your items. It helped me so much.

There's drop off boxes at Our Lady of Ransom. Just dropped off some clothes there last Saturday.

These are in the village crossing shopping center between Jewel and Dicks. Not sure who the charity is but they were open for drop off.

I would try PRVGS offer for free. Wasn’t there a family who recently lost everything in a fire?

I have a loved one living in a group home. They are always looking for kitchenware. They are several hours away but I do go there and wave and make signs for her to see. If you want to donate to them I could bring it there the next time I go.

You can list them on Craigslist under free stuff and put them at the curb. That might work if the thought police don't hear about it.

I just moved and no one was taking donations. I called Park Ridge Pick Up (sorry can't find their phone number) and they took everything. I didn't ask where they took it. It just went away in their van.

I dropped off bags of clothes at the donation box by Brooks park. They are still picking up I think.

If you don’t care about the tax deduction (which isn’t much for reg household items/clothing unless you have proof of value) you can drop off at the bins in parking lots. I usually drop off at Wings but just did the parking lot one the other day.

They asked to stop dropping in the parking lots, last I saw. Someone else just has to put it in a dumpster. Bummer.
