I'm in town and wanted to check out some of the story times at the library around Park Ridge. The calendar said they went thru last week, no current dates. Before I call when they open, does anyone typically go and know if they're still running this week? Also, how strict are they on kids 1-3 yrs old sitting still and not moving around? The library where we live allows moving around the room as long as they stay safe. Thanks a ton!

I don’t know what’s up with the schedule! But I can tell you that they are not strict about little ones moving around the room. My friend and I usually bring our kids to story time for 2s and 3s. My 3 year old sits and listens and our 1 year olds just kinda wander around.

The story time takes breaks throughout the year. They aren’t strict at all about how well a kiddo that age can sit. The first half is stories and songs and the second half is playgroup. EDIT: this is at the Park Ridge library

Park ridge doesn’t allow non residents to take out books or much of anything. So I would highly doubt you could sit in on story time.

They usually have a calendar online. They staff is wonderful. You can ask at the front desk too

I work in the Children's Department in the Park Ridge library. There's no story time this week since we're planning the next session of programs. They will resume the week of March 9. Storytimes are drop in and a library card is not required. Kids moving about is fine. The online calendar for all library events is here. https://parkridgelibrary.libcal.com/

Caity Elizabeth check out the Niles Library. Here is the schedule for the week. We love story time there, and the kid’s area is fun, too. https://nmdl.libnet.info/events?r=thismonth
