Yes or no to a soaker tub nearby Park Ridge? I’m rehabbing a house and have gotten conflicting points of view whether or not to have a soaker tub in the master bathroom. I don’t really have the room, the master bathroom will be awesome without the tub, it will have a large shower with steam. Is the soaker tub ready necessary? I will have a regular size bathtub in another bathroom for kids. I will also have a large bathroom in the finished basement that I can fit a soaker tub into if necessary without taking much room away from the basement bathroom.

A lot of people like to take baths. If there is another bathroom with a good tub, that may be enough when it comes time to sell.
Soaker tubs in my opinion and in seeing them in friend’s houses, go mostly unused.
Sarah Catherine thank you. Yes I will definitely have a bathtub for kids.
No! Never use ours & as long as you have a tub elsewhere, no need
I think you answered your own question with your explanation 🙂
No need for the soaker.
We have one that gets used most days. But I think we’d survive without it. It just depends if you like taking baths, which I DO!
You have to live there, do what you want and the heck with resale!
No to soaker yes to larger walk in shower with multiple features etc.
As long as one of your bathrooms has a tub, you don't need one.
No need if you have one in another bathroom
Keep it awesome! No soaker. ain’t nobody got time for that

I love not having a tub! Big shower and heated floors.
I have twins so a big tub is a musta d the tub in “their” bathroom is not very deep and the room is small so I bathe them in our tub. Something to think about is the size of the other bathroom will it be comfortable for 1 OR 2 adults to bathe kids in? I would use my tub but it’s a weird one and not deep enough for me to be a soaker. I need my clawfoot tub back!
People love the way they look, but I’d take a steam shower over a bathtub every day of the week.
I’d say skip the tub! I don’t take baths and could care less about a tub. Want to update our main bathroom and put a bigger shower in it. Good luck with whatever you decide.
Waste of space. Go with a bigger shower.
No to the MB soaker TUB.
What does your heart tell you?
As long as u present a good option for those preferring a soaker or jetted tub, u should be ok not to hv it in master.
I think as long as you have one tub in the house your fine. Go for big shower 🚿!
We did a soaker tub no one uses it. I do t think it’s a big positive resale item Either. If you don’t have that much room do something else with the room.
I use my free standing soaker tub All. THE. TIME (don't do jets though)
Depends on the price point and what the comps have.
Not necessary. As long as you’ve got one in the house, That’s good!
No soaker tub. We have one and we used it once. To bath our dogs. Lol
I hate tubs, wouldn’t bother me. As long as there’s a regular tub for the kiddo, it wouldn’t deter me.
I need a tub. And I’m so mad we didn’t put one when we added a bathroom to our house. I take a bath then shower every day. I would be lost without one.
I say no soaker tub. You have one tub already that’s enough.
We LOVE our jetted tub in the master, the shower is not that big, but when we remodeled we couldn't really go bigger on the shower without losing the tub. So that's our preference. We have a tub in the other bathroom, it is not deep and not big enough for an adult to enjoy. If your other bath has a bigger tub I would skip it. I'm also a big fan of the jets as opposed to just a soaker, but if I didn't have the jets I would still really enjoy the saoker.
As long as you put in a tub that has a slanted back so one can lay back in the tub, no soaker needed. But the kids tub should be comfy for an adult who does want to soak!
I sold my last home with 3 bathrooms no tub, it did not effect my resale value at all. We did measure out a bath to allow for a tub of the next person needed a tub
We had a soaker tub in our old house, I think I used it twice and one of my daughters used it a handful of times. I don’t think it’s important at all. We did have two regular tubs, too.
If you have a soaker tub make sure you have a 75 gal water heater or a tankless anything let won’t fill a soaker with enough hot water., most people that I know that have them hardly use them and wish they didn’t have them. so my advise to you. Don’t get one unless you love your baths
Hardly ever use ours.
If you’re selling it , you need at least one bathtub
No soaker
Love mine ❤️
No soaker. Make the one in the basement feel very Zen.
I prefer the shower with steam , so no to the tub
Make the one in the basement a 2 person tub
Love a soaking tub. It was one of my favorite things about all my Airbnb’s in Europe every single one had a soaking tub. Make sure it’s actually comfortable, deep enough and wide enough.
No soaker. Our tub has become our indoor/winter plant garden
No tub
No tub. It’s never used.
No tub. Regular tub somewhere in home for kids though.
No tub. (I'm a broker as well as an appraiser) I see no reason to have one. You need one tub in the house somewhere for logical reasons depending on your market but for a master. not necessary unless custom for someone asking.
Nope. You'll use it for a while and then it will sit unused for years. Well that's our story anyway :( I think it got used more for dog baths than anything else.
