Who is a member of FFC and had there rates raised by Park Ridge? I love the people, the classes and almost everything about the gym except for they “nickel & dime” the members. Last year they raised our rates $14 a month and I just got a letter today saying that they are raising our rates again another $16 per month. So crazy, specially because when I joined the sales person told me that they NEVER raise rates and our rates would be locked in. Anyone else experience this?

Seems like the rates have been increasing around $10 every year!

Was thinking about joining that gym but it’s already more on the expensive side, I wouldn’t want to see my rate go up every year!

Paying around $150 - they will probably lose members when the new LA Fitness opens on Touhy. $30 a month. When I joined it was around $120

It was like that in the city (Gold Coast location) too. I got a letter saying they were renovating their party space so rates increased and I never used that space. It happened every year though.

Look into Toneup club. It’s on Higgins next to baskin Robbins

We joined a year before they officially opened. Membership for the entire family, including membership at all their clubs was $155/month. Last year it popped to $170 and this year it increased to $185. Its a nice club but it’s becoming way too crowded to get your workout in. Might be time for a change.

I think it would be fair to find out what the increase is going towards? Are staff getting deserved raises? Are there big plans for improvements to the facility or programming?

Hey Jeff. Nice to see you on here. We too really enjoy the FFC. Between the classes, kids club and the social functions of the gym - it really is top notch! But all that comes at a cost. For my membership, we were guaranteed that while they may raise rates each year, they will never raise our rate and charge the annual fee during the same calendar year. I’ve been a member since February 2017 and have seen one increase. I recommend you reach out to Janet Long - GM Park Ridge FFC with your concerns. I’m sure she could provide some help or additional information. Take care! Doug

Yup. We joined before they were built and we love it there, so does our 3yr old he loves the child care. However, Our membership has increased about $30 since then. Where is the customer loyalty? You should be locked in to your signup price, and new customers charged more if that’s what they want. The increases are company wide not just gym specific, only gym I’ve ever been a member of that operates like this way.

It is getting crowded! I didn’t receive a letter about the increase but maybe it’s because I was just increased 10$ in June. I absolutely love their group classes but they’re sooo crowded lately. No matter the time lol

Wait. they raised them? I was teetering between staying there or going back to planet fitness anyway. I guess this made my decision.

Amy Allen funny, I found myself doing the same thing at Centennial

I've heard lately that people are unhappy and are leaving FFC and coming back to the Community Center.

I stopped for that reason. Not knocking FFC but it’s VERY expensive for what they offer and my gym has increased me once in 15 years

Yep ours just went up about $13 or so. Same as everyone above, very annoying as we’ve been members for years.

Centennial Fitness Center doesn’t do annual fees and is only $38 per month for an individual. New members can try it free for 2 weeks!

For 2 adults under the premier membership and we have 3 children (after 2 the 3rd child is free) we pay $329 a month! I love the gym, the classes, the trainers, but the employees are a little less than desirable. Terrible customer service.

I was a “charter member” mine has gone up 2-3 times and I’m at the point not sure if it’s worth that much money, we don’t use it as much as we should and just got a Peloton bike.

The gym is very nice but I could be making a car payment for what I pay them a month. If they raise the rates I’m out

I didn’t get a letter about it being raised. I only got one saying they were going to charge the annual fee. But I’m agreeing with you all. If they do raise I will most likely go elsewhere. I find myself wasting more and more time waiting to use machines, for the money we pay you’d think they could at least have 2 of the same machines to reduce wait times.

I ended up having to pay a yearly fee but my monthly rate remained the same. Looking for another gym as I cannot justify these extra costs anymore.

I cannot believe theses costs! Good grief! I’m all for “whatever works for you to get you to the gym” but this sounds like highway robbery. PS, i was a little miffed my charter fitness monthly fees went up from $10 to $15. 😂 little hidden gem that about 12 of us belong to!

Yes, they raised rates as of Jan. 3rd. I didn’t receive a letter and couldn’t believe they went up again.

I also was told that they don’t background check the people that work in the kids club. It isn’t company policy.

Bull market blitz! I pay $150 a year for the right to use LA Fitness when my gym down the block is closed late at nite

I was a member of FFC (downtown and Lakeview) for probably 7 years but the annual fee just annoyed me so much that I left and went to Orange Theory instead and haven't been back since (3 years ago).

Well cut the tshirts and donuts both are not needed plus cut the yearly bonuses and reduce the rates. Let's do it BOARD!

I hit LA Fitness on Cumberland. It's a dump, it's cheap, the people who work out there are fun(ny) and it does the job. I would never pay these FFC rates - no, thank you.
