Unfortunately, I do not recommend Seasons. I used them for my mom and did not find them to be very nurturing. I also did not find them to be very reliable.

I’m sorry you need to be exploring these options. Our neighbor around the corner is heavily involved with Journey Care - she’s incredible. JC was formally Midwest Palliative Care when we used them back in 2006. They were beyond amazing with my dad. For my mom we used Rainbow Home Hospice - again amazing.

I’m sorry this is where you are at and having to walk this path. Rainbow allowed my father to pass with dignity surrounded by his friends and family coming and going. He ate ham and drank a Manhattan. Laughed and cried with family. It was a gift in the darkest days. The final days of his life were supported by dedicated staff who cared for him, knew our names and kept us informed of the stages he would be in while making his way to Heaven. After our family was supported in our grief and healing process. 🌈 Will always hold a special place in our families heart.

I highly recommend Rainbow Hospice. We had a horrendous experience with Journey Care. My sister was under their care around the Thanksgiving holiday. We went days without seeing a soul. Had to beg someone to bath her. It was a horrible experience. They are short staffed and don’t really care.

We had rainbow and my grandmother was staying at Norwood Crossing in Norwood Park. We had the best experience ever. There was a chaplain that came daily to visit her and pray, there was a musician that came and sang to her at least every other day, a nurse from hospice checked on her as well as her regular nurse. I received numerous phone calls from them with updates on her and to check on me. The added bonus. to give me a break they had volunteers who would come and sit with her if I had to leave. My relief who was a 20 year old college boy (on a Sunday night at 8pm) came and I went home. I literally just made it home and the nurse called to tell me to come back that my gram wasn’t doing well and she had a big change. I went back to the nursing home with my hubby. The relief asked is he could stay with us and be there with us. He had no connection with my family whatsoever and to offer that was beyond words. I would recommend Rainbow to anyone. I pray that whomever you pick works out well for you and your family. 💕

If your loved one is at a facility, that facility is still responsible for their primary personal care while in hospice. They did not have to " wait for" hospice. Hospice is additional care to address comfort , safety and to ensure that your loved one is not experiencing distress. I am so sorry that you were mislead.

Patti Kelliher Wiederer I work for Rainbow Hospice and I’m sorry you’re having to go through this- it’s always a difficult process but hospice can really be a pillar of strength and support to lean on. To address an earlier comment. even if the patient is in a nursing home, you can choose ANY hospice that serves that area. The nursing home may offer one or two choices that they often refer to but you aren’t limited to those options. Also, hospice is absolutely additional/supplemental care and nursing home is still responsible for providing basic care, as they normally would if hospice weren’t involved. It is still the expectation that the facility keeps the individual clean, dry and well cared for. and hospice can provide that extra time and attention that they may not be able to. Whoever you choose, anybody Who chose to work in hospice care has a good heart, so you’ll be in good hands. If the experience is not up to your standards or is sub par in any way, you have the right to transfer to another hospice or revoke the hospice benefit. You are never stuck. Best of luck in your decision making process. I hope you find the company that best suits your loved one’s needs. ♥️

Rainbow told me on Friday they were busy and would come see my mom On Monday. She died At midnight Tuesday Seasons came immediately Friday evening and a nurse saw my mom. They were out daily after that. Rainbow called on Monday and I let them know they dropped the ball and I would never recommend them to anyone. I asked them if anyone else they were too busy with on Friday died and the answer was no. Shameful! Hospice is 24/7

We had Midwest for my Dad; it's one of the organizations that then became Journey Care. They were really amazing with my Dad, but also their interest in the whole family and especially some things they did for my Mom.

My husband was in Rainbow. They were wonderful. They did things I asked because I knew that my husband would like them, and they did them. They treated all of us so very well.

I have a option with my stage 5 renal failure, and one is to stop treatment and the doctor said she would just turn me over to hospice for I would pass in about 10 days after stopping dialysis, any thoughts or advice on how to do this😎
