Does anyone here care that park ridge is replacing the old water meters with smart meters? (Think harmful emf) I'm trying to see if anyone is interested in trying to stop this from becoming mandatory with no opt out!

It’s not PR, it’s the gas company.

It’s both the water meters and gas meter.

Ok, fine. Be more concerned over the phone in “your pocket” and the EMR (not emf)

It's the water. nicor hasn't contacted us yet and comed offers an opt out. Also, when three smart meters are right at my kids heads when they sleep that concerns me more than the phone "in my pocket"

Chris Murphy I'm assuming your 😆 was a "no I'm not concerned" if I'm correct, I'm also curious if you have ever looked into the health effects coming from smart meters or if you are aware that some places are actually taking them out.

The wifi in your house and your cell phone are more of a problem than smart meters. Aluminum foil/mesh will block smart meter waves. you could probably install that between the meter and the house if you are that nervous. You aren't going to have a choice as 5G is installed everywhere and that is more disruptive.

Smart meters haven’t been tested for safety on children. Chicago halted smart water meter installations, as 7% showed elevated lead. Other meters are installed oustide your home, Park Ridge water meters are inside. There is nothing a resident can do to protect or shield the RF. Park Ridge is always keen to get consultants and do studies on many things, was there one done here? Or is Park Ridge relying on data from the same company which is hired and financially benefiting?

My only concern is that the City of Chicago started the program replacing the water meters with smart meters but then realized that even shutting the water off in a home for minutes in order to cut off the old meters allowed lead to run through the pipes. they have now ceased the program of replacing the meters until they address the issue of lead leaking into the system. I wonder if Park Ridge will cease until a "fix" is developed.

Park Ridge leaders don't care, as long as they are getting their money from the water bills. Our water bills are crazy high because The "Leaders" didn't want to pay into the Niles/MG/Skokie/Evanston water project years back. Just like we see no revenue from the Casino because Park Ridge opted out of any compensation because they didn't want the cSino that close to PR. So in a nutshell Arbella Koliana, they don't care! They used to!

But those are choices YOU are making. Here Park Ridge is making it mandatory to be exposed, not ok.

This debate is such a moot point. We are being blasted by EMF/EMR/Whatever "scientific" words you are using this week so often that a smart meter won't make a dent. Everything from broadcast radio, OTA Digital TV, O'Hare ATC and navigational beacons, the cell towers on buildings, the radio transmitters on almost every steet corner, and the wifi in every house. Honestly there's no escaping it. Go online and buy an SDR and tune around the radio spectrum, you'll find data bursts and analog signals all around you 24/7/365

I think every household receives (by snail mail) The Spokesman which is the city's "newspaper" and has lots of good information about what the city is doing. There's also the city's website for information.
