Question for hairstylists or people that are creative with hair: Has anyone successfully gone to get a freestyle updo or some sort of blowout (not just basic straight) - meaning you ask the stylist to do something they think is pretty around Park Ridge? I have an out of town wedding to go to and need my hair to be put up or do something out of the ordinary. keep in mind the following (I know it’s a lot): 1. I like my curls (more like waves and they’re only there because I put a shit ton of curl cream and squeeze the crap out of it while I diffuse my hair. 2. I would love to incorporate my natural hair with waves after I style it, but if I go to a salon they will comb it out and there goes the nice shiny waves. 3. I’ve never had an up-do that I really loved (I’ll post pics in comments) - I usually just feel like “meh” so you pinned it up and put a shit ton of hairspray it. 4. I like volume but don’t want to look like I have a beehive. 5. My hair is brown/medium length and thin but people say I have a lot of it (I don’t think so but just an FYI. 6. I realize this is a very tall order and I don’t know if this issue has a solution 😂 7. I’m willing to pay for a trial in town before I go. 8. My friend cuts/colors my hair but she’s not good with updos otherwise I’d go to her. Thanks

Hi Melissa! I think if you asked for something that looks like the pic I’ve attached, you’ll still keep your shiny curls and it wouldn’t be brushed through! The key word to ask for is “textured”
2 different events and I just think my hair looked ok 😞
