LONG SHOT: I’m looking for advice on a *cheap* Florida getaway by Park Ridge. We are exhausted & need a break, but unfortunately low on funds that are earmarked for house renovation projects. Anyone have any suggestions? My dream is a little tiny motel room a few blocks from a beach, that takes dogs. Husband, kid, me & 2 small yappy dogs. Happy to drive to Florida. Just want to be in the sun, maybe enjoy some tacos and go for a swim.

Seista key is beautiful and has just that, little hotel/motels right on the beach and the cutest little downtown area with awesome seafood and some pretty great tacos as well
I've been researching Florida for a winter break too. Tampa is by far the cheapest airport to fly into. I found a lovely area outside of St. Petersburg called St Pete beach. haven't been but all reviews are great and I booked it for January.
Jupiter Waterfront Inn
Look at fort Meyers beach!
I second Siesta Key. beautiful white sand beach. there is an area at the south end with little motels with kitchenettes . we stayed at the Capri but there are a bunch of little motels like that in that area. Tropical beach resort is another nice one. Look on Trip Advisor. Had the best fish tacos there!
Those yappy dogs might be a problem. Not all places take them and not all vacationers think “ yappy dogs” add to a peaceful getaway.
The Sarasota area is lovely, closer & not as expensive as Ft. Meyer’s Beach.
Lynn Wiemeler I’ll message you in a bit!
Lynn Wiemeler great!
On Expedia you can filter by pet friendly and most accept dogs
If you have trouble finding something near the beach you can always stay in Orlando get a home with a pool those are really inexpensive in Orlando
Look at the best western Miami Beach. Sounds crazy but it’s on the beach cheap and takes pets
There also everything you need within a 10 minute walk and parking is cheep so the cars on hand
Good luck
We went to St George Island with our dog. So awesome. Very dog friendly. We rented a house, but there are affordable 🏨 . If interested, there is a FB page for SGI.
Check Airbnb website you get great deals probably house or condo you might rent. We use it all the time great deal
Hollywood Beach. Europa Inn or something like that had kitchenettes but hard to get a reservation. Reasonable and steps from beach. Loads to do on the boardwalk.
Forgot to mention. if you want to bring your pup to the beach and swim, first check which beaches permit dogs.
Check out fort Myers.
The Apollo on Marco Island FL!
Treasure Island - several small motels right on the beach to choose from.
Sunset Inn in Panama City Beach. On the ocean and close drive for dinner / attractions.
