Seems like someone didn't stop for a stop sign. 🤔

I witnessed it. Guy driving north did not stop at stop sign. I was right behind him and had no problem stopping. People, pay attention. Those girls will never be the same. They were terrified, and it was not their fault.

Many children walk this path to Washington School. Thank God no kids were hurt.

Drove by this after dropping my kids off at school. The one car was totally crushed and airbags deployed. I’m shocked if nobody was seriously hurt. Hopefully not. People fly through that stop sign all the time. And it is more concerning because so many kids are walking to school over there. Maybe they can start giving tickets until people get the hint. Poor kids.

There was a little boy in the SUV, looked like a kindergartener or 1st grader. He was scared but not hurt. It did not look like the teenage girls were hurt, physically at least.

How could that much damage been done at 25 mph? Clearly speeding. Even walking can be dangerous. Can't tell you how many times I've seen people blow stop signs while I'm out walking my dog.

I stay off of Belle Plaine in the morning and afternoon, too many inexperienced, impatient student drivers (matching up against grumpy adults).

No one knows the facts to what happened - so please stop speculating & shaming. They are called accidents for a reason - no one intends for this to happen. But I wish the moderators of this site would prohibit posting of “shock value” pics. I can’t imagine learning someone I cared about was in an accident via Facebook. Go ahead & post an accident alert at. but no need for the pics - IMO. Grateful all are physically ok. Be kind to everyone, be kind. ❤️

Shoot just wrote a comment and deleted it! Argh. Here I go. I’m okay with visuals. I think they make a big impression. In my high school we would get a crushed car on loan every few semesters. It was from a dui crash. It scared the hell out of all of us! It would sit prominently in the front circle. This was Toronto. They would have traveling crash cars. One time, we even had the speaker come talk to us. A 20 year old woman paralyzed in the car by a drunk driver. I still remember her telling us the movie “Arthur” with the drunk driving scene was morally and criminally wrong. Yup!
