Did the Shell on Touhy close in Park Ridge? I just drove by and the Cadillac I saw every day for the last 15 years is gone and so is everything else and there's a note on the door. I didn't get close enough to read it.

My husband told me the other day that they sold it. Don’t know where he heard it.

On their facebook page, PARK RIDGE SHELL HAS RELOCATED! After 46 years of serving the community on the corner of Touhy and Greenwood, the Paglini family has moved the business to their other location. We will still be located in Park Ridge just a short distance away at Talcott and Cumberland. This is a happy but emotional move for us. We’ve been fortunate to have customers that have become friends and employees that have become family. It’s exciting to continue to make new memories and provide our customers with the same personal service our family has given through the years. We now have more space for auto repairs and our mechanical team of Tom, Dave, Eric and Kevin are still the best around. We thank you for your loyalty and look forward to you stopping in to say hello! @ Shell

New owners are rehabbing it and needed a special use to do so. Interestingly the application for the special use said that to fulfill the “compatibility with surrounding property” element this applicant was relying on the next door special use. Seems like one special use many times leads to other similar special uses nearby. https://www.journal-topics.com/.../touhy-greenwood-shell.../

Yes my family has owned the Shell on Touhy and Greenwood for 46 years. We have also owned the station at Talcott and Cumberland for the last five years. We decided to merge the two businesses and focus on one. Same family, same wonderful staff, one mile away. Unfortunately the pink Cadillac is gone but not forgotten. We hope you’ll visit us at our other location!
