Phone scams - there has been some discussion about these latley within Park Ridge. I have received two calls from Officer Gomez saying that my social security number has been suspended. Do I need to report this to someone, and if so, to whom? Thank you!

I just got the same call right now!
We get phone calls saying that our electricity will be turned off for lack of payment and that I must call 800-416-3739. So we reported it to ComEd and they didn't seam to care.

We get those calls all the time
I reported it to the police. They ask that we all spread the word to friends and neighborts. They will alert the elderly at their meeting with them next week.

I don't answer our home phone any longer.
I contacted SS and gave them the phone numbers where the calls were coming from. Don't think they can do much yet worth a shot - got about 5 calls a day for about 5 days. Had only answered 2 as I was waiting on a call from someone and answered by mistake.
I love messing with these people. These indignant bastards get pissed off.
I just got one from Chase about my credit card. I don’t have a chase card.
I get calls all the time from Microsoft security saying the need access to my computer. We have five laptops and desktops. Every one a Mac. But I still play along to see how much of their time I can waste before they get mad and yell at me and hang up. One guy yelled at me and said “all the money we steal goes to al-quaeda. Boom boom! ” Then he hung up.
I don't answer unknown numbers- if it is important they will leave message.
I’m in the National Do Not Call List & I still receive these calls. I no longer answer my cellphone or home phone unless I know who is calling. I figure if the call is important they will leave a message.

There's no one to report it to, the offenders are not in America.
I get all these calls and ones that say my student loan is in collections. I didn’t even go to college to have a student loan!
Fake hang up on them! They are calling from India. I work for a Police Department and they somehow use our phone number and state this is an officer with our department. The police will never call you to warn they’ll arrest you.

I don't even run to the phone anymore. If you don't recognize the number, don't pick it up ! Simple! If you wanna mess with them, get a whistle and blow it into the phone! Or if you DO answer, and still wanna "fluck" with them, when you pick it up, say 911, how can I help you? " Or "Immigration, how can I help you? " 😆
It’s a scam I have spoken to social security because I kept getting them this what they said just like the irs scam 1. They don’t call social security or IRS you will be notified by mail and if you select a bag with the time and date they will call you but otherwise if they never call
