The Target brand of Proactive works wonders! 3 steps- I only have my son do it at night. Also, Spadida Salon Suites does amazing teen facials! Book through Helen Despotopoulos.

The Derm in Glenview helped my son at age 12. It was pretty bad and definitely needed to be treated from the inside out.

See a dermatologist. None of the stuff recommended above ever worked for me and I still have acne in my adulthood.

We had the most effective results at the Derm, either in Glenview or PR. wasted a lot of time and money on OTC products

I wouldnt waste money on OTC go to the dermatologist he will give him some pills for acne and maybe a special face wash and they'll tell you alot. of thos products aren't even exactly. good for your skin it may work. for some and not for others but can make matters worse for him you never know how his skin will react. to products. i have super sensitive skin and those products that say they are so good for skin like mine irritate my skin and make it worst so be careful

Hello. I'm the esthetician at Colours Salon in Harwood Heights. I've actually been working with a female teen with acne and we are getting great results. I would love to have you and your son come in for a consultation. We also offer a teen facial for just $40, which is a great way to see exactly what is going on and discuss homecare and other issues that cause acne.

My daughter was experiencing a lot of breakout, mainly on her forehead but still some random doozies. We went to the PA at North Branch dermatology out of Resurrection and the improvement is amazing. My daughter does a combo of OTC and Rx products. Probably one of the biggest changes was using a make up wipe/face wipe after sports. Maybe not the easiest for a boy to do but getting the dirt and sweat off their face makes a big difference.

I’ve helped 100’s of people. Feel free to message me . The dermatologist will more than likely give antibiotics and harsh washes. Before making recommendations I need to ask a few questions 🤫

An unexpected product with no harsh chemicals Norwex body and face cloth. They also just came out with a face pack that has face washing scrubby type things with two differnt surfaces for your face. You dont even use soap and the cloths dont harbor bacteria. Small and can even ytake to school for after gym class or sports. . https://shopus.norwex.biz/.../shop/product-detail/369942

Agree. My daughter had some success w OTC products and some made it worse. I regretted not going to the dermatologist sooner. I’d get him looked at right away. She goes to the Derm and they are great. North Branch Dermatology is also excellent (I go there but not for acne) Good luck.

Depending on the type of acne he has, bacterial or hormonal, there are a few options. I've been treating clients with acne for over 15yrs, I use all organic products for my facials. Come for a free consultation and we can take it from there. If he's dealing with cystic acne, I suggest he sees a dermatologist, but I would start with a natural approach and see what happens. A deep cleansing facial and a good homecare routine will definitely help. Lamarisalon in Edison Park

This is going to sound crazy but I suffered from acne for YEARS was on prescriptions and everything and my dads friend suggested I try the nourish face wash from Trader Joe’s (it’s an off label of a designer face wash) and it cleared my skin. I swear by it and it has cleared numerous friends of mines skin as well!

Hi Monica Petrenko, i am a skin therapist at www. BellaReynaSpa. com in Park Ridge. I have so many acne clients from teens to adults. Each skin is different and just because a product worked for one does not work for all. Come in for a skin assessment. PM me for more details.

I PM’d you. If you would like a non-toxic option that works ( all the above contain chemicals and toxins that can make it worse, have other side effects, can disrupt hormones etc) Arbonne has an awesome one. I would also HIGHLY recommend using pre/probiotics with enzymes Most of our skin issues begin in the gut. I can get you a sample of both if you’d like
