Just thought I would explore this idea - are there any young girls out there who teach little ones tumbling skills (walkovers, flip-flops, handsprings) in Park Ridge? I have two little girls (ages 5 & 7) who would like to learn these skills. They can do cart wheels and round- offs very well and can partially do backbends. We have done the park district, but I am wondering if they may progress better with something else. Thank you in advance for your input and direction

Hi Irene! Let’s set up a one hour play date with Lola & one of her friends + your girls. Lola has an air track and is a pretty good teacher. Sara Press two more girls that would be interested in early tumbling for cheer.

Sarah Smolik at EOC. Coach Ray and the other coaches are amazing tumbling coaches.

Also we do tumbling at The Gymnastics Shop in Mt. Prospect. Viking doesn’t do just “tumbling” anymore, that I am aware of.

We just signed up for the tumbling class at Virtuoso with a great teacher to learn just those things. Class couldn’t run this fall due to low enrollment. There’s a bunch of us wanting this class to go if you would consider signing up

Hi Irene. I’m a gymnastics/tumbling coach (too far to recommend where I am). My advise is. (and people don’t necessarily understand that back handsprings/flip flops take strength, flexibility, repetition, etc). see an “expert”. Most teenagers/young peeps don’t realize that they are like 8 steps that need to be mastered and put together to “flip”. Seems like EOC is getting awesome referrals. I’d hate for someone to try to teach the skills wo really knowing all that’s involved and your daughter(s) get hurt. I love tumbling/gymnastics and I hope they continue with their passion and love for the sport(s), as well. 🙂
