Got some bad news today in Park Ridge. Our dog needs a rhinoscopy & CT. It looks like she has a foreign object lodged in her nose. She is bleeding from her nostril due to irritation. We were given antibiotics and a clotting herbal supplement. Veterinary specialty center in Buffalo Grove is where we went, but they have a 2 week wait time for the next appt to do the procedure & we were quoted $3, 000-$4, 000 😭🤬🤢 looking for suggestions and hopefully a lower cost.

They may be a couple hr drive, but look into Veterinary schools (UofI, Purdue, I believe theres also one in Wisconsin). I've heard most offer services for much more reasonable rates.

Wright Animal Hospital. You can always apply for care credit too. No interest either. I hope your dog feels better. Animal Welfare League offers inexpensive vet care.

MedVet in chicago is good but pricey too. Elmhurst Animal Care center is very good and slightly less expensive.

We used care credit for our dog's emergency surgery. Best of luck!

Blue pearl in North Field is amazing and open 24 hours. My dog had surgery there. They take care credit so you can do payments instead of paying all upfront.

Care Animal Hospital of Arlington Heights, Dr Haase. On site CT and a surgeon, usually $2K cheaper than VSC.

University of Madison! Your vet just needs to call them. It’s a teaching hospital but so worth the drive and is very reasonable!

Get an estimate from hanover park animal hospital. It works with rescue groups, which is how i came to know them. They have been wonderful for my 2 dogs and waaaaaay cheaper than my prior vets. Not too far from PR, 30 min. They really do care and call back for questions, always get you in, and have wellness plans.

My sister just went through the same thing with her dog at Vet Specialties. Bleeding in the nose and irritation. She tried every doctor and medication. She had the ct and scope and it is cancer in the dogs nose and head.

Try to go to Madison to their veterinary school. They are amazing and it will likely be at least half the price.

We did ACL surgery out in St Charles at Valley Vet. They were great and we loved them. Look them up. BG clinic is outrageous in their prices. We won’t use them anymore
