Thank you everyone ! I just figured out what was wrong with my dog. thankfully I took a video and sent it to my friend whos a vet. ita called a reverse sneeze I'd you don't know what it is YouTube it. its a terrible sound! Thanks everyone for all the options !
Siroc Sara Carbone I am so sorry that freaked you out. Thank goodness it was nothing. It usually happens when excited or nervous. Next time try gently grabbing their snout and give your dog a quick poof of air towards their nose. Not touching their nose with your mouth just a quick blow towards the nose. But always contact a vet if something strange happens.
Next reverse sneeze try massaging the pups throat firmly but gently. I've also heard pull there tongue lightly. I poke my boys tongue with my finger. Them wiggling their tongue seems to help my boys. Its kind of like our hiccup spasm, if you can disrupt the spasm it will stop. Sometimes a really delicious treat held towards you shoulder height making them sit will get their throat in a different position and adds a little distraction. Different things help each time. You will find the right way to help stop them as quickly as possible.
Our Daisy has done this for years. our vet in the past has said to hold your hand and cup over the nose to force her to swallow and massage the throat gently. usually stops in a couple minutes but frightening i know.

Mine reverse sneezes all the time.
And Golf Rose saved him about 10 years ago.
