Ok. OK. TMI. But I am going to see if anyone has information. My friend (shhhh. daughter) is a 32 triple/quad D and can not find bras. I was thinking that if she found some she sort of liked, that maybe a tailor could fix them for her to make them perfect. I know in the old days she used to do that. She once found one she liked at Victoria's Secret, but they stopped making it. It is especially, awkward, because she is narrow.. She does not, for obvious reasons, like any of the 'padded' kind either. Has anyone had any experience with 'tailors' for this or any other recommendations in general. [I'm pretty sure we've tried most of the specialty stores, unsuccessfully. ]

Have you tried Soma? Or the bra department at Nordstrom?

There is a store in Lincoln park on Webster and halsted called Underthings. The owner, Maria is usually there. They fit you and have pretty obscure sizes. I had a reduction about 3 years ago. But WAS the same size as your friend and feel her pain. I promise she'll find bras she loves there.

Look into the Bra and Girdle company. My mom was a 38 HH and used to order from there.

Nordstrom is really good. Thats where I get a lot of my bras from. The only problem is that a lot of the ones I like are online only. If she doesn't mind ordering online and trying a few then that may be her best bet. I've also heard good things about Soma as well. However, I still haven't tried them yet. There is also a specialty shop called Betty Schwartz's. I think it's in Skokie. I went there w/ my friend because she was in need of a special bra for a bridesmaid dress. They also, did a bit of tailoring to it as well to make sure it was perfect for her.

My friend owns a place called Chantilly Lace in Wilmette. She took over a few years ago and has kept the expert bra fitter, but has brought the merchandise in a more modern direction. I know she has helped many younger clients.

Nordstrom, once you find the bra that fits, you can buy more in other colors online if they don't have anything cute there!

Von maur. They are wonderful there! They make large sizes with small bands. The one at York town has the best selection.

Hi! I'm a 32 G (which is really hard to find! ) and the fitters at Nordstrom weren't the best for me because they only carry a select few styles in sizes larger than DD, and none of them worked super well. I'd recommend either Rigby and Peller or to find a brand that carries her size (panache, Curvy Kate, and Freya are good ones to start with) and use the store locator on their website to find smaller stores that carry that brand. If you're comfortable ordering online, I've had luck with Bravissimo and Figleaves. com as well! (Also consider re-measuring, especially if her latest fitting was a while ago. )

Thank you so much everyone. Now to do the homework. She's in NY so that's another component. The only bra she's ever liked was some minimized from Victoria's Secret, and of course, they discontinued.

Lane Bryant has an awesome Bra line called Cacique. Go into any Lane Bryant store and they have a great selection. They can order online if not in the store. There's also a Lane Bryant Store in Hoffman Estates with a huge Cacique store attached to it on Golf and Route 59. My nieces are small girls (5, 7, 9) but bigger busted. They love the Cacique line and they used to go to Victoria Secret but were becoming unhappy with comfort. Try them out.

I am a 38G and the only place I shop is Rigby & Teller. They have a store at Oakbrook and one on 900 N Michigan. Not only do they have bras in larger sizes, they are beautiful; not "granny" bras. They will also tailor them if need be and when the back stretches out that will replace. Once she goes there, she won't go anywhere else. I have sent numerous well endowed women there and they all agree. https://www.rigbyandpeller.com
