Funny~ What to Do? We received an invitation to a wedding and we have no idea who they are around Park Ridge! I scoured my 20 year business database, checked facebook for a connection to our family, looked on Linkedin and cross referenced with my husbands same information. The odd thing is the address is mailed to our most current home of four months. At this point we have family, friends and clients kids, kids getting married :), so who knows? It's out of town or I would totally show up and play! This sort of looks small and intimate. Do I politely decline so they can have the space? Do I send back the reply card and say "who are you"?

Did you look for them on facebook? Sometimes seeing a picture of them may jog the memory.

Likely they searched for your address and got someone, but not the right someone with the same name. Don't go.

Is it a real wedding, or a trick to get you out of the house for some time? Then rob you. Crazy, i know. Could be for previous owners. Send them a note to be sure.

There's more people with your husbands name on facebook than I thought there would be. I bet it's for one of these dudes.

Depends where the reception is! If it's swanky it may be a date.

Check and see if any other viki or vicky's or your husband's name have them as a friend on fb? That may solve it.

Look through their Facebook photos to see if you recognize the parents? Check the work and school history and likes?

I agree that it was sent to you in error. Possibly meant for someone with the same name as your husband. I would sent a letter back to them, asking them to call/email you. I'd hate for the "right" person to miss out on the wedding, you know?

Two of my cousins recently received invites for weddings and they have no idea who the person is maybe it's some new scam.

Maybe it's an IRS sting

I would not go, and respond early apologize that you do not know them and may have been invited in error. You never know how you got to the invite as it could have been a third party error. Weddings are extremely expensive and generally involve people who will be interested in the new union going forward.

It would be worth reaching out, it would suck if the real people they wanted to invite didn't because their mailing list got confused. I just had google mess me up yesterday because it linked a contact with the same phone for someone.

Could you possibly know and are connected to one of the parents that has a different last name? Example, maybe you know the groom's mom who has remarried and you didn't know her son's last name?

I got a call for my daughter's wedding. The woman I invited rudely said "Do I know you? " before even saying hello. I was embarrassed and kind of hurt. She did know me but I guess did not make the connection. We ended the call and I did not hear from them until six days before the wedding right after we spent hours on the seating arrangements. Her husband called to see if they could still attend.
