I'm curious for people's opinions on cell phones in Park Ridge. I have had an iPhone for several generations (10 +years) and like them. I have a 5s and am looking to upgrade. Thinking about switching to something else. anyone been swayed away from iPhone and if so, why? I'm not tech savvy like the younger generation so I like having the stability of what I know, but think they are too expensive and too proprietary for what you may get. Am I wrong?

I have always had blackberry and then lg androids. I switched to iPhone 6 a bit ago and I am going back to android. I just really am not impressed with iPhone. Androids seem to be easier to use and just make more sense to me. I am not an iPhone fan at all.

I used to have an iPhone and switched to a Samsung s6 last year. I don't think I'll ever go back to Apple products.

I have been with iPhone since the dawn of time :). Tried an android for a bit, and husband had an android and my kid has a hand me down android now. Hated it , will not use, will not learn it. And I am the "tech" person in the house. I just have no time.

I can't wait to go back to Apple from android. it keeps trying to download apps I don't want & asking me to install updates like windows did & wasting my memory

My husband talked me into a note 3 a few years ago. I tried really hard to like it but Hated it. To confusing after using apple. Couldn't find anything. I returned it after 2 weeks! Love my iPhone!

Very few people switching from apple to android like the change. I think apple is very much more user friendly and if you're not tech savvy, you will not like the android. My bother tried the Samsung after being an iPhone user for years and he had to return it. He hated everything about it and very difficult to use. On the other hand, the android users say the same about apple products. I'd stick to what I know. I think the way apple products are built is all business - after 2 years you need to upgrade and that's the same with all technology and how fast it's changing. Good luck on whatever you decide. I'd like to hear your feedback should you decide to switch to android because I've thought about it myself and stuck to iPhone time after time.

I made the switch like 4 years ago. We went for new phones. I got the latest iphone and my husband got an Android. Went home. His was so much better than mine that i paid the resock fee to get an Android. I never looked back. I dont think apple is user friendly. I dont like anything about it. Much much happier with my Android.

I love my iPhone! I've tried using android and I just didn't think it was user friendly. Thanksping for me seems to be way easier on an iPhone. My siblings have Android and they are always asking me to take pictures because they say my iPhone takes better pictures and I agree. I don't use a ton of apps. Just the basic stuff. I'll never switch.

I'm a technology professional and have spent my entire working life in this field. I used iPhone originally and switched to Android many years ago. I think it's more user friendly, a more tailored user experience, and more affordable. The latest generation of the Moto G, for example, gives you a lot of phone for about a quarter of the cost of an iPhone. Plus, you wont need to carry around an adapter to plug your headphones into it. If you're still looking for a higher end phone Samsung and the Google Pixel are great options.

This Black Friday deal is good until tomorrow at Target. I upgraded yesterday but don't know how many would be left tomorrow.

I love androids (and I am not tech savvy). I've had iphones in the past and most recently had the Samsung S3, S5, and now the S7 edge. Loveeee the Edge. Androids can be customized in so many different ways while the iPhone only has a one size fits all experience. Regardless, if you switch from an iPhone to android or Android to iPhone there will be a learning curve. Based off of the newest iPhone and newest Samsung the cameras are comparable. Google pixel has the highest rated smart phone camera (would have gotten that if I didn't recently purchase the edge). Android for sure!

I went from a iPhone 4 to the Samsung S5. I was grumpy about the switch for about a week, but then I adjusted. I ended up really liking it. And now I recently upgraded to the Pixel XL. I love it! The interface is almost just like the Samsung, but the camera is truly awesome! Very pleased about the switch so far.

The better the technology, the easier it is to use. And Apple is a much better technology then anything else on the market.

Love my Android :) I enjoy the bigger screen and camera is much better. I am always the "picture taker" when I go out with friends bc the iPhone pics never look so great. It is very user friendly IMO.

Hello Susan, iPhone is a great choice. iPhone more stable than an Android phone also easier to use. In my opinion the reason that they are so costly is not because of the hardware but because the software that they run(ios). Don't forget that Apple is always there for you, in case you have questions you can always call them. Also if you damage your iPhone(cracked screen, charging port issues, battery replacement. ) the parts are cheaper if we compare it with another brands like Samsung. By the way, I was an Android user, but I repair mobile devices. I couldn't find any good reason to not have an iPhone, for a year now I am an iPhone user and I love it.
