Sorry for long post: so I have this cable line that is hanging really low in front of my house, and it's actually going from the front parkway lines and heading along the side of my house, but it's on the ground in Park Ridge. I called ATT since that's who we have, they came out immediately and they told me its most definitely a cable line that is NOT active (so assuming it's Comcast since we don't get wow in Niles) but they couldn't cut the line (or touch it) because it isn't their line. This was two weeks ago. I've called Comcast every other day for TWO WEEKS and I either seem to get disconnected when they find out I'm not a customer (they can't comprehend why I am calling them for technical support and can't give them an account number. ) or I get put on hold for 30 minutes and then disconnected, or I get transferred like 10 different times and end up hanging up Bc no one seems to know where to transfer me. I've actually talked to technical service rep on three different calls and two out of three times they claimed to put in an "emergency ticket for down wires" (I even wrote the confirmation number down) and I was told someone would be out by the end of the night to fix it. No one has come out. SOOO any suggestions on what I can do next? I would actually like some kind of compensation from Comcast (maybe a Visa card? ) since we have a dumpster in our driveway that can not be picked up because their lines were pulled down and the truck can't get in my driveway anymore! So here I sit for two weeks with lines on the ground and a dumpster I need to be picked up, and Comcast hasn't done a damn thing. Suggestions? (Yes I understand that I will probably NOT get any compensation from them. Wishful thinking )

Next step call the village and tell them it's a hazard maybe they will call and you will get results. Being an electrician I would of cut it myself if it was costing me money for a dumpster

When you call give them the ticket number as a reference? "I'm calling regarding EMERGENCY ticket number blah"

Good call on the social media. It worked for me with dunkin donuts who had blocked a handicapped spot with garbage cans

Did you try asking if your neighbors have comcast and could report it as "customers"?

Make that Niles problem, it's interfering with your garbage pickup and dangerous. Demand the Village handle

When you call next sound pissed, say you've been through 10 plus phone calls, do not want to speak with them and ask for "tier two". the first people you reach can't solve much- need to start higher to get anything done.

Lie and say that you want to start service. They will connect you to a representative almost immediately and when you get to that first person tell them your issue. That's how I got through to medicaid.

Call your Alderman or town office for help. They'll get it done.
