The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced that lane closures will take place on Talcott Road between Sibley Street and Canfield Avenue, in Park Ridge, for a resurfacing project, beginning, weather permitting, Monday, April 3. In order to complete the work, Talcott Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction when the work is taking place from Sibley Street to Canfield Avenue. The scope of the project includes resurfacing, patching, drainage improvements and replacement of curb and gutter. The overall project will enhance pedestrian safety and reconstruct pedestrian ramps to be complaint with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The project is expected to be completed in Fall 2017. Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment. Just curious. Has anyone noticed Talcott needing work? Maybe it does and I've just gotten so used to it that I don't notice it.
