A couple of weeks ago I got a letter from the "Maine Township Vote by Mail Center", the return address was 310 Busse Hwy, PMB #317 by Park Ridge. That address is a PO box in the UPS Store on Busse Highway just east of Greenwood. It was addressed to a person who does not, nor ever have lived at my address. It had a partially filled out (the other persons name, and my address) Cook County Elections Clerk form 700 "Request for vote by mail": () It also included a stamped returned envelope, to the same UPS PO box address. Why does a private entity send out edited copies of official Clerk of Cook County documents, with an SASE to a UPS box in Park Ridge, and not to the proper address such forms are supposed to be mailed to? Pictured is a letter included with the forged form 700. At the bottom, "Provided by the Illinois Opportunity Project - 312-846-1001. not affiliated with township government" Illinois Opportunity Project has a facebook page: # The facebook page has a website, also with no phone # or contact information. The phone number is an answering machine that does not say what/who you are leaving a message to. It is also on a nuisance call list with caller ID "Illinois Opp. " Feel free to share, and comment here or message me for any more info. I did call David Orrs office when I received it, they had me take pictures and MMS them to a 312 phone number. When I early voted yesterday, the officials there said that they couldn't do anything, but to visit David Orr's website. Gah. http://cookcountyclerk.com/elections/mailvoting/Documents/MB%20App%204-2017_EN.pdf

I guess I'm confused. If the senders intent is to get more people to vote, why wouldn't they put the Cook County address on the SASE? Why would they put a PO Box number?

I just called the phone # that Orr's people had me send me text the photos to. Guy said they had received numerous complaints, all from Illinois Opportunity Project. He said it was being looked into, but at this time he attributed the name/address mismatch to IL Opp. Proj's incompetence and that recent state law changes (just a guess here - lobbied by a PAC? ) made such activies legal.

Since it says Maine Township, I would contact Carol Teschy, the Maine Township supervisor and ask her if this is affiliated with her in any way.

Ken, I own a UPS Store in Bucktown. We sometimes open mailboxes for people who we find out later, are crooks. I'm not saying that's the case here but it is fishy. I suggest you stop by the USPS and complain. Our mailboxes are regulated by the USPS and they take this kind of thing very seriously. The postal inspector would be very interested. The UPS Store owner - Bob would also be interested.

How much money are the conservatives going to throw into our local elections?
