Is it just me, or is the Park District run with all the efficiency of a 1950's bake sale nearby Park Ridge? My wife had to make three trips to register our kids for summer camp, because they still haven't mastered online registration, and fill out all the forms we filled out before because they got a new computer system without a contract to migrate the data. Drivers licenses and birth certificates to verify residency? All that data is available electronically!

All that money from the exorbitant program fees that they are "reinvesting". Also, our ultra-conservative park district overlords want to make for damn certain no one from other communities is stealing programming that we can get cheaper as non-residents in Niles.

I know we need to get updated with technology. Not only is it a waste of time to go in but, not environmentally friendly.

It cannot be that efficient to have staff handling all of the paperwork.

I registered my son for a 3 month membership at the fitness center tonight and it was amazingly easy! Much easier than in years past. The man that assisted us was very helpful and efficient. We were completely satisfied!

I registered our children for summer camps online and had zero issues. I created a spreadsheet ahead of time with all of the camp codes which aided the process. That said, the interface is clunky.

We were told we had to come in person and resubmit drivers licenses and birth certificates for our kids, even though they just finished swim classes and basketball. It is absurd.

Hi, I'm the Manager of Marketing & Public Relations for the District. Hopefully, I can add a little more clarification. The Park District is launching a new registration system on April 4. Everyone needs to create a new household in order to register for any programs, membership, events, rentals, etc. with the Park District occurring after April 4. And, residents need to verify their residency status for the entire household in order to receive resident rates moving forward after April 4. The current database is not transferring to the new system. The current database also has a large number of duplicate records and inaccurate household information. This has occurred for a number of reasons. For example, someone sells their house and a new family moves in; we now have two household records with the same address but only the new resident should be receiving resident rates because they are the tax payer. We are requiring residency status to be verified at this time so that our new database is set-up as accurate as possible. This also protects your tax dollars as a resident. Your benefit of paying taxes to the Park Ridge Park District is that you receive a lower rate than those individuals who do not pay taxes. Providing a copy of your child’s birth certificate proves their residency as your child after you show proof of your residency. This also verifies that their age is accurately entered in our system. We do not keep a copy of your certificate, just view it. Should you have any further questions about this process, please feel free to direct them to me at mholler@prparks. org or call 847-692-5127 and we will be happy to answer. You can also find more information on this processes here: www. prparks. org/Portals/0/Assets/New-Registration_Launch. pdf

My tax dollars. LOL! My tax dollars are paying for a park district that many of us can no longer afford to use. When it is cheaper to go to Niles as a non-resident than it is to use the Park Ridge Park District or cheaper to use a private program then who cares if someone is "stealing" programing? Those people aren't stealing my tax dollars. The Park Ridge Park District is stealing my tax dollars and I'm not getting anything in return. Also, the PRPD is losing revenue every time someone leaves the park district for other communities—but that's the point isn't it? And Birth Certificates to get a pool pass or take a basketball class? Big Brother much?

One way to engage the community is to have the walking track be free to residents. Our residents go to Niles and Glenview to walk. Community center?

I tried to get on the waiting list for the Bunny breakfast, and needed to go to the office in order to open an Account! It's crazy!
