When Evanston and Morton Grove reached out to Park Ridge several times asking if they'd want in on the deal, Park Ridge never even responded! Too busy to save its residents $$? This is what I want to change in PR!

No, not seriously, there is NO TRUTH to any of these accusations actually. The story Barb is spinning is one that I have already corrected Lucas on at a cocktail party, but he wants to present is alternative facts anyway and hope that the voters don’t care about the truth or facts. Here is what actually happened… this might get long, but it’s important. I apologize in advance, but the people deserve the truth. Niles and MG came to the city with a potential plan for all 3 of us to switch to Evanston water. The first step in this venture would be hiring a consultant to figure out the details and they wanted us to share in the costs. It would be a huge saving on water price, but the construction costs would offset the savings for a few decades. We liked the numbers, but wanted a little more detail. When they came back, the numbers were all different, pushing the breakeven out even further. We had our staff, not a consultant, see if these new numbers made sense and staff came back to recommend that we move forward. ***A special meeting was set for Oct. 19, 2015 to join the initial stage of the project, as staff recommended. Out of nowhere, on Oct. 16th we get a letter form the “team” MG/Niles, let us know that they had been researching other options(without our knowledge) and had found one that would be a lower cost for them, but could not include us. The actual letter stated… team has asked me to advise you that in the last few weeks, the team has become aware of another alternative for delivery of a water supply to both Morton Grove and Niles that may be attractive in terms of reducing or offsetting some of the very significant capital costs… Based on what we know now, there are questions about whether the delivery capacity that could be achieved under this new delivery system would be sufficient to meet Park Ridge's water demand levels” Page 2, 2nd paragraph http://www. parkridge. us/assets/1/Events/CM%20%20%20MGN%20Park%20Ridge%2010152015. pdf That was the last communication our elected officials have had on the matter, other than an update form our PW Director a few months ago that he had spoken to the PW Director in Niles and that the plan they are pursuing does not have enough capacity to include Park Ridge. Basically, we were invited to the homecoming dance and then our date found a better option and dumped us. http://www.parkridge.us/city_council_-10-19-2015/?F_d=10%2f19%2f2015

John Moran If you want to talk about the truth why don't you attempt to prove the statements you made in your letter to your neighbors about Lucas for Mayor. Let all of us know how you came to any of those conclusions. Or tell us the truth about why you would do or say anything to see him lose, regardless of how inaccurate or egregious your lies may be. How do you live with yourself?

Wow, wow, gentlefolk, neighbors. It amazes me how much hostility we can have for those in our community based upon such simple things. I will admit, I'm as disinclined as the next person to believe anything I read from a person looking for votes, but Messrs Moran and Lukas are both our neighbors. I am also devoted to the concept of open governments and truth through honest reporting. What I am seeing here is that there is a disagreement regarding the facts of a potential agreement with Morton Grove and Niles for our water supply, in which they chose to exclude Park Ridge because it would be financially advantageous to them. John Moran, you do a good job of citing actual letters received by the city, which meets a solid journalistic standard for truth. Daniela Fuksa, what about these letters, which seem on the surface to support that John Moran is saying regarding Park Ridge having been blocked out of a water deal, are you contesting? John Moran, I will admit to having only come lately to these matters of local governance in our community. Has there been any followup with Niles or MG regarding why we appear to have been, from what I can see, frozen out of a water deal?

While Park Ridge was doing our do diligence ("hand sitting") the cities of MG and Niles researched and found an option to lower their infrastructure investment costs, but this option does not have the capacity to serve PR. I have asked the mayor of MG a few times, over the past few months, if there is a seat at the table for Park Ridge and the answer has always been "sorry".

I came to this posting to correct inaccurate information about water, not to defend the facts in my letter to residents of Park Ridge. Most people who try to label someone a liar will actually provide the proof of the lies, not demand statements be verified, but here we go, tell me where I am lying… Lucas has no experience in local government- Fact Lucas has only sat thru one city council meeting- Fact (Full disclosure, he did attend one other meeting for about 30 minute and then left in the middle) His main issues are zoning and development- Fact (ask anyone he has spoken to) President of a Political Action Committee- Fact (PAL- PAC) Campaign Chairman is a developer- Fact (on the D-1 filed with the state it is Hubert Cioromski, owner of Troy Realty, which owns or manages multiple properties in Park Ridge under) Private “invite only” fundraiser- Fact (see picture) TIF stuff- During the same conversation that Lucas asked for my support, I asked him about TIF’s, he supported them and even has a new type of TIF that he mentioned using. Recently he has backed off on supporting TIF’s, but not on developer incentives. As for the data on increased sales tax = lower property taxes, I’ll leave that to Lucas to prove, he’s been making the claim to anyone that listens. The debt of the TIF is documented all over the place and so are the cuts to services that resulted to stop the backwards slide of our general fund balance (operating budget) and bond rating. The choice was either make some hard decisions about cutting services or raise property taxes. This all resulted from the inaccurate predictions of developers, so don’t blame the current council for lack of Christmas Lights or funding to the Center of Concern (among other great organizations that were the collateral damage of the Uptown TIF disaster). So, I hope that I have addressed the points of my letter. If you’d like me to post the letter in its entirety, I will gladly do so. As for why I am not supporting your husband… he is a nice guy and he is qualified to hold a public office in Park Ridge, but Mayor? ^^^ SEE ABOVE^^^ I’ve already heard the rumors that this is my attempt to become Mayor one day by blocking him from being elected. All I can say to that is, if this was an election between two highly qualified individuals who I felt each wanted to build on the tremendous progress of the past 3-5 years and would run the city in an efficient and transparent manor, with no hidden agenda or favors owed, I would stay out of it completely. I clearly do not feel that this race is shaping up that way, so that is why I am proud to support Marty for Mayor. Good Night. I hope everyone enjoys the great weather this weekend!

I will throw out that anyone who supports any TIF is a complete moron. the problem in Park Ridge now is the uptown TIF. and if you think TIF is good, i point you to chicago, it's amazing as to how broke the city is yet they miraculously found lief overt property tax money in a TIF to pay for body cameras, if you believe the media

Don't pretend like your letter just listed those things, most of which are incorrect. Although never elected to political office, he's had a lot of experience with local government. Your statement about attending council meetings doesn't even include a time period and in addition is false. His main issue is retail, this means filling empty stores, not development. As a side note, you attack development when we just went through some of the largest development Park Ridge has seen in its history under your friend Marty. Campaign chairman , Hubert, is successful in real estate and a big contributor to Park Ridge and you should thank him for that. He also has never represented or been involved in any transaction with Hubert. He is absolutely against any idea for a TIF and this is proven by the fact that he said just that in the Park Ridge Herald Advocate article. He held a fundraiser, that's so crazy! John Moran if you actually cared about Park Ridge and not just Marty, you would have called my husband about these concerns instead of lying to your neighbors. Shame on you.

None of this matters anyway. What's done is done. The last thing I want is a mayor with a Super PAC beholden to his donors and not the voters. When I give money for something then I expect a return on that investment. Fuksa's donors expect something for their substantial investment. Let's not let that message get lost. Anyone who has a PAC paying for their campaign is not beholden to their voters. They are beholden only to their investors.

It does matter Kathy because it is the current administration that didn't work to lower expenses for their residents. I can't reward this type of inaction and sit and watch them try to blame others. Park Ridge dropped the ball and I'll be paying for it.

Kathy Meade can you please verify your comment that a PAC is contributing to him. Please, you can look up campaign contributions so please find that for all of us. I'll wait patiently.

And when the ball is dropped because Fuksa's investors don't want something? Or when a development goes up that is too large for the site and no one listens to residents concerns? Or when Fuksa's developer investors want to cut corners on flood abatement on one of their construction sites to save money? Or they force through tearing down a Park Ridge land mark because one of his campaign investors wants the property?

I'm sorry hear the Lucas is so misinformed about things happening in our city. Someone needs to fact check him, at every turn. Posting this article shows exactly how little he knows about our city.

I started out my morning questioning the accuracy of this post where I originally saw it on Lucas For Mayor page. Mr. Fuksa stated in a comment on that page (our exchange has been taken down) that the Mayor of Niles told him that it is not true that NIles and Morton Grove cut Park Ridge out of their water deal with Evanston. Since this comment does not jibe with the information that is out there, I again am asking Mr. Fuksa to explain his comment. I never go into an election without gathering as many facts as possible. Someone is being less than truthful and I would like to know who it is!

You know what I find interesting? All the e-mails I have received from real estate developers in the last two days pleading with me to support Lucas for mayor. I just received another e-mail a minute ago from Hubert J Cioromskiubert J Cioromski, President/CEO at Troy Realty LTD. who told me that Lucas and his developer supporters "have spent a lot of money on Park Ridge—way more than the complainers. " So does he mean he expects us to hand over Park Ridge to these wealthy men who can expect to profit off of Fuksa as mayor because they spend a lot of money on Park Ridge? Am I reading that right?
